What you keep in your drawers..

We find all sorts of hilarious things in our business. Sometimes we are just too hot, dusty, muddy, or tired to document it. BUT, sometimes we bust out the phone and take pictures.
We thought it might be fun to start sharing these things on occasion....

The Donkey wearing a hat puzzle.

Someone took the time to glue this together, and then kept it in a drawer for, ohhhh, about 3 decades. I found it in a dresser under a pile of mail from the 1970's.
A handbook for working in the mission field with, of all things, truckers.

This was found among my in-laws things at a recent sale. The back says "Truckers that love God telling other truckers of the love of God. "
I am all for truckers and missionaries, I just never envisioned them in a book together.
Hands down, the ugliest clock I've ever seen.
Ever.
I'm not even sure what it was made of, but the whole thing looked sticky.....
A magical mother/daughter unicorn clock, and a dog painting....on velvet.

Maybe you didn't notice it was on velvet. Probably because you were too busy being frightened my his huge teeth and barbed wire collar.

These were at a fund raising sale at a church.
I guess it's ok to donate your naughty book stash if its for a good cause.

Our friend Aaron took this picture at an estate sale. Can you say "scary cat lady"?

....and then there's this. A scale that really makes you cringe. Matted and furry. Not a good combo for bare feet.

Gotta get back to painting....

Name that Squirrel: Winners!

After almost 100 submissions, we have a winner!

We had several Honorable Mentions. Such as:
"Minnie Squirrel"
"Shabby Cheek" and
"Nutalia"

My husband also made me promise to consider his suggestion of "Squirrelonce", but our girl doesn't have the moves.

The winner is Jonathan Long, ( I hope your wife likes to paint....  ;) and our Squirrelfriend is now officially named "Cleopatra".

No, it doesn't really make sense, but it made us smile, so we went with it.

Could it have something to do with the very unfortunate Cleopatra-esque haircut I got this morning....??
Maybe.

Winner of the $10 gift Certificate, for the 1,000 Facebook likes, is Lindsay Connery.

The irony is not lost on Ashley and I that Southern Honey's 1000th like was a guy names Robert E. Lee III.
That's. Just. Awesome.

Come say hi this weekend!

Name That Squirrel

She's old, and a little scruffy.
She's got some scars, and I accidentally broke her tail.
Wrapped in dusty newspaper, crammed in the bottom of an old galvanized trash can under a shed ( yes, we were digging through a trash can ), we found her.
Our new store mascot.....

BUT
She needs a name.
An awesome, witty, creative, super squirrelly name.

Leave us a comment here or on Facebook telling us what you think her name should be. The winner will receive a pack of 6 chalk paint samples.

Come see us this weekend!
